How to: Use AT commands in HyperTerminal.
Solution:
Create a new connection in 'HyperTerminal' and select 'Direct to COMx'. Type the commands on the blank screen.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs'.
3) Select 'Accessories' and select 'HyperTerminal'. (The 'HyperTerminal' folder appears.)
4) Double-click the 'Hypertrm' icon. (The 'Connection Description' dialog box appears.)
NOTE: Depending on the Windows 95 setup, the 'Hypertrm' icon could be renamed 'Hypertrm.exe'.
5) Type the name of the new connection in the 'Name' box.
6) Select an icon from the 'Icon' list box.
7) Click 'OK'. (The 'Phone Number' dialog box appears.)
8) Select 'Direct to COM<x>' from the 'Connect Using' drop-down list box, where <x> is the number of the communications port.

NOTE: The 'Phone number' option becomes grayed out when this option is chosen.
9) Click 'OK'. (The 'COM<x> Properties' dialog box appears, where <x> is the number of the communications port.)
10) Select the COM<x> port properties.
11) Click 'OK'. (A blank screen appears with a counter on the lower left hand side.)
12) Type the desired AT commands.
NOTE: Consult the modem manual to determine the appropriate AT commands.
13) (Optional) To save the connection:
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save as...'. (The 'Save As...' dialog box appears.)
b) Select the folder in which to save the connection and click 'Open'.
c) Type the name for connection in the 'File name' box and click 'Save'.
